Should it make any difference if the heads are reversed after a top-end re-work? We noticed that the heads had a L and an R stamped on them but they were not originally installed that way. We reversed them, making sure that the fuel galley end-plugs were reversed. Everything seemed to go back together OK with no mismatched holes in the head gasket.

The ONLY thing that I have seen that supports a Left/Right argument are the hoist points, one front, one rear. But that's for hoisting the motor as an assembly. The fact that you had to reverse the fuel block off plugs to "make" them L/R is support enough to me that it's irrelevant. Bolt one on each side and away you go.

They're universal, use them on each side. Karl, the lift points are technically on the same end of the heads. If you take the left head and put it on the right side, you have to turn it around to make it fit. The heads have no direction to them so to speak. Kind of cool how it works like that.
