Default 05 ABS issues

Hey guys i just bought an 05 powerstroke about a week ago with 106k miles. The truck is completly stock and is a 4wd 6spd. Ive been driving it the past week with no issues. A few days ago i took a trip from NC to Georgia and about 3hrs into the drive the ABS light came on. Once i got to Georgia shut the truck off and didnt drive the rest of the day. The next few days i drove it around town and the light did not come on. Then once again, about 3hrs into the drive back to NC the light came on. Im Kind of confused here. Any of my previous vehicles if the light came on it stayed on until the issue was addressed. My question here is why is it comming on and off like that? Im sorry im kind of rambling and probably said a bunch of unimportant info but i figured id type as much info as possible. Any info is much appreciated.

abs line could be frayed

my dog chewed through my abs line about halfway, and it would come on when making a left turn which allowed the abs to kick on and off every time the broke wires touched. light would go off then back on every time i turned left. i didnt have the money for a new abs line (sensor), so i cut the wire in half where it was frayed, and electrical taped both ends. light stayed on no matter what after that, for a couple weeks until i replaced the sensor.

could be your problem. check all of the abs lines

ok ill check that out. The part that puzzles me is that it dosent seem like it would be a connection issue because there is a pattern to when it turns on and when it turns off. Ive been reading up online and I've found out that the wheel speed sensor affects the ABS so im gonna check that out. Anybody else that knows anything about ABS feel free to chime in.

Pull the sensor on top of the rear diff and clean it. See if that fixes it.

thanks ill clean that this weekend when i have some time off work. Been driving the truck on base and no problems with the light coming on. It still dosent make much sense to me why it comes on only on the interstate and only after a few hours of driving. Oh well ill get to cleaning and checking resistance and such this weekend. Thanks for the help guys.

My buddy's 05 that had 37's used to do the same thing. The speedo would sometimes stop working and ABS light would come on. Check that sensor... very common.
