SCT with custom tuning. Several good companies out there with EXCELLENT tuning for the 6.0.

Truck Source Diesel, Gearhead, Quick Tricks are just a few.

I have an edge juice w/attitude that includes the pyrometer I will sell cheap. It is nice for the gauges and it gives me about 1.8-2.1 mpg on a 06 crew cab 4wd s/b

After what my Edge did to my transmission, I won't give the POS away!

If you do not use the transmission control feature and you keep your foot out of it, there will be no transmission issues. I personally would rather have the SCT as well. And with that tuner, you do not have to worry as much about the transmission problems. At the end of the day though, you can just as easily tear it up. It is all about the right foot.

What's the point of using any programmer then? You may as well leave the programmers at Summit Racing and drive around in a stock truck.

Edge did absolutely NOTHING good for my transmission, in ANY setting. I am not hard on my truck, I can't be, it's a daily driver. Therefore, the theory of simply keeping your foot out of it doesn't hold much water with me.

Soft, smooth shifts are the result of the clutches slipping during a gear change. While these are good for the non performance enthausiast, a firm shift puts less wear on the clutch packs. Putting a Brand E programmer that added power, but didn't compensate with firmer shifts would be why my trans fluid was black and chunky when I had to R&R it.

You wouldn't put an OEM spec C-4 behind a 450hp 347, would you?

SCT with custom tunes is the only way to roll! You can do H&S stuff, with custom tuning, but the options are very limited (only one guy that I know of writing tunes for it, which is Mike @ KEM) and it's about double the money as the SCT.
