Changing a 7.3 IDI injection pump
I'm probably just failing at my search abilities, but can anyone give me any info or suggestions on a full injection pump swap?
I have a reman'd arctic pump to go into the truck, and I just want to make sure I don't make this harder than it needs to be.
I remember reading that I need to make sure not to lose the timing, so I'm assuming there is an easy way to lose it.

Sorry, none of the fords I work on have a turbo and I didn't even think about it for the IDIs.
This one is a 1990 and no turbo, aftermarket or otherwise.

I've hit a bit of a snag. Where the TPS attaches to the side of the pump on my original pump it's just a round extension, the new one has a rod sticking through it. The adapter for the TPS won't go over it.
It rod is going through a hole that the original pump has, just without that part there. One of the hex screws was going through the hole and there is another inline.
Am I supposed to pull the rod out and put it back through the holes in line, pull it out and use the hex screws, grind a groove into the tps adapter, or ?

It wouldn't come out one direction, but I tried the other one last time before giving up and it popped out like butter...
All pumps are in, it bled really easy.
