I used to run with a bunch of guys and galls who ran circle track, we always ran royal purple I have never seen an engine blow up due to problems with the oil it usually was some factor due to bearing issues or some other factor... but in a "perfect" built engine or just a factory engine... Royal Purple is by far the best thing you could ever do for your motor.....

I was a sceptic my self for years but after taking apart a few hundred engines that have ran delo, valvoline, pensoil, and others, and then an engine that had been exclusively using the two best oils....Royal purple and Castrol Syntec, and seeing that the bearings looked and measuerd out damn near exactly what they should have (new), I was convinced.... give it a chance in a KNOWN good running motor... guarentee you too will become a believer.
