but i got the motor for free.and the heads arnt cracked turned out to be blown head gaskets

Well thats good but if it is a cummins then it only has one head and one head gasket.

Headgasket isnt hard to fix, especially if the engine is out of the truck. Really nice if the engine was free

took it apart today.main bearings are shot

destroked has everything you need to do the job. I did one in an 85 f250. used dodge tranny that came with engine. all said and done was in the 5's and I sold that pos 6.9 for 1000 and the 4 spd for 450.
