Default 7.3 IDI Turbo wont shut off!!!!!!!!!

Came home today and turned the key to the off position but the truck kept on running, so I unpluged the plug with the three wires on the pump still kept runnining so I umpluged the other two wires on top of the pump and it still kept running? In the end I tapped the top of the pump with all the wires unpluged and the truck turned off? pluged everything back in and the truck started and turned off ok? what is going on and how can I fix it. I would really appericate it if someon e could help me Thanks

remove your fuel filter. fill with dieselkleen. reinstall and run. if that doesnt work the solinoid might need replacing.

Where can I buy a new solinoid? My Ford dealer sayes I have to buy the hole pump, at $1000 that seams to be overkill just to replace a solinoid. Does Autozone or someone like that carry that part?

no autozone wont, and it can be a bitch to replace it. see if there are any pump shops around you. they should be able to get it.

When you put it back together be ready with a phone book, if the arm that sticks down is aligned wrong the engine can go into a runaway on initial start and then all hell breaks loose.
