i have the e4od tranny and the overdrive is not engaing. on the highway it usually runs 65 at about 2200 rpm and is now almost 2500 rpm. i have not changed the tranny oil before in this truck wondering if it will cause more trouble. or adding a tranny cooler would help.

 

If the overdrive is not engaging - it is more than the fluid. Of course they will change it when they analyze the problem but there is more wrong with the transmission. Let's hope it might just need a sensor replacement.

 

it happened the other day was going along the road and hit a pothole and the over drive went off and never came back on. really hope it's not something bad.

everything is working fine just the od is not working any suggestioins need this for work!!!!

 

Well since it happened when you hit a bump I'd bet it's somthing simple like a wire coming unplugged off the tranny or somthing like that. Does that have the button on the end of the shifter for the OD ? I've seen those go bad on newer trucks
