7.3l idi non-turbo to turbo questions
Hi, I have a 2wd 1990 F250 7.3L diesel with 215,000 miles. I just straight piped it to a 6" miter stack and i would really like it to roll a little black without damaging my pistons at all. Does my truck have a torque screw like the 6.9's? or is there something different that i have to do? please get back to me and let me know. Thanks.
u were in the right place with your previous post. turning up the fuel will cause little more smoke. just dont go crazy with it, u will melt down the motor.
also do a search on turning up the fuel, many posts about it. if ur out for just smoke, get a cummins.

i got mine turned up and just right not to much smoke but still smokes i turned 6 flats about the damn oil line went out that goes to the turbo i just but a high pressured water line on it its doing ok once i get it to stop leaking and noticed my damn manifold is cracked
Will make comp. Ratio different ..... The combustion chamber is in the head unlike most other diesel engines where the piston bas a large bowl in the piston and those heads are flat ... like a cummins .... not too sure what the comp ratio would be but the turbo would ah a slighly lower compression ratio to make room for boost .... where the NA would have a 21.5:1 comp. Ration ... turbo would have 20.5:1 i beleive .... should be realclose to that ..... Diesel crawler has the exact numbers if i recall right
