I'd add the larger exhaust first, maybe a 3" down pipe to a 4" straight pipe, with the larger pipe it should lower egts and help the turbo spool better. Then I'd drive it around like that for a while and see how you like it BEFORE turning up the fuel. And I'm not sure if you have done it yet but if you get rid of the stock style intake tube that mounts to the rad support and use some 4" dryer duct and build your own ram air intel that will help a bit as well

I hear that 10 psi is plenty,but that's from just lurking around.
A friend of mine told me the IDIs are pretty good engines,as long as you don't turbo them,but they are dogs.

i hope im in the right place ,, does anyone know the torque specs on the head bolts for the 7.3 idi turbo , b/c im putting new head gaskets and i dont have a book on the navistar engine

hey dom! i know when i rebuilt a 455 olds motor i called autozone and asked for the specs. they should beable to give the specs and sequince.

u could also try an international dealer. the only one i know of close to me is lucas truck sales and service in zanesville
