Default 7.3 idi turbo question

Ok I have the old style banks kit with the big intake box. My question is can i remove the whole box but leave the bottom hat thing that bolts to the intake that has the small hose on it. and just run a cold air intake off the turbo.also where could I put that round valve looking thing that's on the box.

Should be possible, cannot imagine why it couldn't, and what valve object are you talking about?

I'm having a hard time picturing what you're talking about, is it the cdr valve?

The CDR valve is a small can shaped deal, about the size of a tuna can. You can either find a way to plumb it into your intake or just remove it and run the hose from the motor to some random location under the truck and let it vent to the atmosphere.

It keeps the engine from consuming a LOT of oil, and also helps to keep a runaway situation on ease, I would not get rid of it. You can relocate it though, a lot of people tap it directly into the oil fill hole

Do not believe so, it should remain on the valve cover, but could be plumbed through the oil fill cap as an easy way
