The tab is toast, the piston is what I'm going to be stressed out about...

its below the entry point of the pre-chamber so I'm un sure if this means I can run it or if I need to just bite the bullet and buy new pistons and a re ring kit ....

hey, your in machinist school, what is the thoughts of you professors ??? I would like some onsite from all angles here on this one ..

I know that they recommend the replacement if the stock heads, we have endless pairs in the storage rooms and they have all failed in the same spots cracking from the precondition chamber. I can try to get ahold of them see what they think would be the best thing to do

I wouldn't run it just due to the fact that that stamping of the tab on top of the piston will cause a change in the performance that cylinder

well, there are 7 other cylinders eager to make it up im sure ...

My father in law ( doing automotive since 1964) , said oh hell, I have had glow plugs beat the **** out of pistons worse than that ... run that beast ... sand down the high spots and the sharp edges as best as u can , other than that , should be just fine ...

So , Guess i will take the old mans advise, run it till it drops or pops ... then ask for money to build a 12v for the ford ...LOL
