I know you could change your oil, and filters, check for leaks, do injectors and change the pump and lines and everything like that. But these trucks are 20+ years old, what things should be checked or done to "freshen" them up or make them run just that little bit better? And what are some little cheap parts that should be replaced at a regular interval?

Make sure u have clean fuel, and SCA Precharged coolant .... cavitation will kill it quick , I'm currently doing Head gasket on mine ... port matched everything ..... also they really like synthetic oil .... I have been running RoyalPurple 15/40 for about 3 yrs. In my 7.3idi .... averaging 19.7 mpg on freeway and 16.8 city ...... hopefully the port matched everything will get me over the 20 hump

Not routine really, but check grease fittings where ever you find one on the truck...
