Transmission problems
I have a 93 f350 with the E4OD tranny in it. As I've read on countless threads, they are a weak tranny. I got mine put in about 5 months ago and it slips and hard shifts really bad--I mean whiplash shifting. It's driving me insane Now that I know this is too weak of a tranny for the size of the truck, I'd like to know what you guys run/recommend. I am very experienced in manual transmissions too so that's no problem. Any recommendations are welcome.

or even a 4 spd.... I have one and thier pretty bomb proof... and way easy to find... ZF's are a real pain to find and damn expencive .... also the aluminum case can be split with a good amount of power ... so depends on what your looking for .... if you plan on towing and you have 3.55:1 gears go with a 4 spd ....if your doing highway and you have 4.10:1 gears go with the ZF ..... if your making bigger power and your ruff on your manuals go with the 4 spd ..... thier both good transmissions , usage will determine wich one is the best for your application
mine is a 7.3 IDI 4 spd 3.55:1 4x4 lifted to lvl w/ 315/75/16's cooper at/3's ... 18.8 mpg all day on the freeway at 60 mph
