i have an 1985 f250 6.9 the injector pump can only go in one way due to the dowl on gear. the truck wont start. can the injector pump be one turn off. does the injector pump just turn once with one motor turn. can it be off a full trun? the pump was just remanufactured. thanks chris

 

Have you bled the lines? After replacing my IP, I had a heck of a time (getting the air out) getting the truck to start. Good luck.

 

put the engine on cylinder 1 TDC compression stroke, check the timing marks, if they line up, it is on correctly. Air in the system on that engine is a bear to get out, might have to crank for quite a while if that is the problem.

 

I did crank for a while and it seemed like all the air was out. Where are the timing marks?

 

Timing marks are on the gear on front of pump and cam shaft, been a long time since i did one but i think there is a cover you can take off to see them.
