Lmao, you've never had one apart to see first hand? Why don't you go to a real idi forum and learn a bit.

I don't think you understood why I posted this video. ..... if you over boost an IDI you can drop the insert from tue cylinder head and cause serious engine damage. .... that's why its not recommended .... and yes u can also have a condition called a blow back. ..... my old man showed me what happened when someone did this ..... over boosted the engine and it caused the fuel to go bang inside the insert .... not sure what numbers this took but it too destroyed the block and head...... food for thought

Well you are either really lucky or false info has been distributed. Everything I have been reading about these warns not to boost over 12-15psi for fear of lifting a head. I guess it's hard to say what one motor will take versus another. I talked to a guy at a dyno event who claimed to have thrown a turbo on one of these running 30psi all day long without a problem. I wrote him off as crazy, but after seeing this, maybe he wasn't too far off. How many miles have you accumulated running these pressures? BTW, I love the sound of your truck, sounds like a dang jet engine.

Check for intakes/exhaust leaks, plug the waste gate and see what happens...then up the IP
