I perfer to have it but, remember; opinion's are like a$$holes, everyone has one and they ALL stink! Lol.

Some 6.9L trucks also have a seperate water seperator on the driver's side firewall. There is a ring on the top you pull up to drain them.


As far as turning the pump up goes, be very careful with that. There was a thread somewhere in here about that. Do it wrong or too much and you can destroy your motor.

You really need to do air before fuel with these NA motors, but YMMV.

The first thing I would do would be get it in good running order as it is. My '85 f250 with 6.9, 4spd and 4.10 gears gets 19mpg doing 55mph. My 90 with 7.3 with an overdrive automatic does around the same now. Most things you're talking about will reduce fuel economy in addition to engine life.
