Thanks for the informative response. Can you tell me what brand and type of recaps you have experience with. The third party reviews that I have read on the TreadWright bead-to-bead remold tires indicate new tire performance as the sidewalls are also completely new. Thoughts??

Thanks again!
Joe

You should probably spend more time doing actual research than browsing web forums looking to validate your pre-conceived notions, Mr. Engineer:

From the wiki: Tire manufacturing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The tire is an assembly of numerous components that are built up on a drum and then cured in a press under heat and pressure. Heat facilitates a polymerization reaction that crosslinks rubber monomers to create long elastic molecules. These polymers create the elastic quality that permits the tire to be compressed in the area where the tire contacts the road surface and spring back to its original shape under high-frequency cycles.
That bold/italicized part doesn't happen the same way making a retread. That is why they are prone to failing and coming apart. Simple chemistry and manufacturing principles.

You're welcome!

Recaps do not go from bead to bead with new side walls. That would make it a brand new tire.

Even if they did, it is physically impossible for the manufacturing process to permeate the casing like it does in new tires.

I think it's funny that someone that can afford a Hummer is buying recaps

If a story doesn't make sense, it's not the truth. Your story does not make sense.

Why on earth did you wait for your rims to get cracked three times before you decided to stop using their tires? You also say you bought your first set from them 3 years ago and each set was replaced "more than 3 times". How many times, exactly? 4? 40? If you were having such a miserable success rate, why did you keep using the tires? Even more perplexing is why you became a distributor.

Your first post mentions "three occasions whare my tires got large bulges on them and blew out each time with my family in the truck", but in a later post you mention "4 close calls myself deffinetaly not worth it". Can you get your story straight and then let us know which version we should believe?

I've run Treadwright tires on 3 of my vehicles (a Jeep and 2 Suburbans) over the years and have had exactly zero problems. The tires provided great traction and ran smoothly at highways speeds. I have a family, and I would not hesitate to recommend Treadwright's tires to anyone who wants a safe, quality product at a reasonable price.

It is true there are exceptions to every rule. Except in this case the rule in question is 1st time posters ranting about a controversial topic at length are nothing but trolls.

Rule holds true for jeeper.

Rules about recaps also hold true, despite jeepers lame attempt to undermine the OP's info.

I am disappointed that you resorted to petty insults instead of contributing to the discussion with logic or facts. I should not be surprised, as using such diversions is a classic ploy of those who have no valid arguments or facts to support their side of the debate.

Whether I am a troll or not does not change the fact that the original poster's story has holes in it, and those inconsistencies call into question the veracity of his account.

I am disappointed you keep dragging this out. The only "veracity" in question is yours.

Sorry for dragging it out. When I see ridiculous tales being presented as fact, I find myself in a position of trying to set the record straight for those who really want a balanced and true account.

I understand you are trying to muddy the waters and distract from my original observations about the questionable information the original poster shared. I'm sure you realize that other people who read this thread will probably be wondering about the same inconsistencies I pointed out, and your little games will not satisfy any logical or reasonable person. If you would care to share some sort of real basis for believing anything the original poster said, I would be happy to consider your input.
