No offence but that is a crap response. The Anarchist just asked for some simple information and some that maybe some of the rest of us would like to hear too...

You should consider yourself lucky - you have been warned.

The idea that that reman'd tires have issues with tread separation should be obvious to ANYONE who drives down the interstate with their eyes open. You see that crap all over the road in the summertime. Are you daft?

Sheesh.

Not I am not daft, I won't bore you with my qualifications, because they really don't matter, what matters is folks come on messages boards to share & get information, so if a response is lacking one of the two I am not afraid to call you on it. I am a veteran poster on many boards, just new to this one. The tires I purchased are bead-2-bead remolds so I don't see them as having the same separation tendencies as true "recaps", you know the ones that litter the highway. Any tire that is mistreated or improperly maintained can fail...so we just wanted to know the facts surrounding the failures, but alas more conjecture & negativity directed at me 4 stating the obvious...yes I called the response crap, but I was just stating a fact...again something that was missing from the reply I responded to. I guess I should have just said, "I don't believe your response contained information pertinent to the question that was asked, could you please provide more details", would that garner more informative information??? How about it guys?? Details or continued cra.....sorry, I will stop short this time.

All the information is out there for anyone with the motivation to search and read. The problem on message boards like this (particular example) comes in when lazy people with pre-conceived notions demand quick answers or explanations that goes against their grain.

Tough luck for you.

see there you go again making assumptions and accusations...calling me lazy?? You have absolutely no idea how much information I have gathered (plenty) and how much research I have done (copious amounts) you just can't stand it when someone asks for (not demands immediately) details surrounding statements made about a product. ALL we have heard is that on 3 occasions at highway speeds (what is that?? speed limit is 75 in some parts of Colorado and other states). THIS thread said it was an UPDATE, an update of what? Failure of some tires? What is wrong with being curious as to the circumstances surrounding those failures. I have no pre-conceived notions...other than the ones I now have about you, based on your proclivity to make assumptions about a poster based on what you "perceive" from ONE post. The only thing you can assume from my original post is that I am intolerant of posts that purposely avoid answering a request for information. As an engineer I like data and usually the more data points the better. Simply stating that tires failed does not provide worthwhile information to analyze, the poster wants us to take that one fact and make decisions based on that one fact alone...talk about being demanding and having pre-conceived notions. Me thinks the finger is pointed in a direction other than myself

But I now have a pre-conceived notion that I am trying to discuss logic and analysis with you. Have a great evening and enjoy some and maybe you have just had a hard day...

there is a reason it is illegal to run recaps on the steer axles on busses and is frowned upon on running them on the steer axles on semis. it is dangerous.

from my experience with semis, say you put 8 good quality recaps on the drive tires. even with a speed limit of 65 at least 2 of the 8 will have the tread come apart before the tires are need for replacement.

I have run retreads on my 98 dodge for a short time. mainly because I had to have steer tires asap. not sure where they came from, but was a used set that a old man put on his truck and had 5,000 miles on them before he had a blow out and put 4 new tires on his truck. I put 1,000-1,500 miles on them before I experienced my first blow out at 11 p.m. with both my daughters in the truck coming home from picking them up from there mom. I never got above 65 mph all highway 2wd dodge 1 ton. was running 65psi max was 80psi. the second failure of the two tires I got was at around 2,500-3,000 miles. tire didn't blow, just decided it wanted to be a steel tire instead of a rubber tire. lost the whole tread off the tire but was still fully aired up.

if you want more info on retreads, don't read reviews on these tires off there website. they control what is on it. and most places that sell them wont allow real negative feed back. always go to third party review places and read more about them that don't have anything at stake.

thank you for reading.
