Default 4 Wheel Drive Slow To Kick In

Today i had to lock in to 4 wheel and it took 30-45 sec. Then I noticed my 4x4 light would go on and off. I know this works on a vacuum system doesn't it. where would a guy start to look for the problem? could this vacuum problem also be related to my defrost problem (Only blowing on one side) the vents work on a vac system also don't they.

yes it sure sounds Vaccumn related to me.................Vacumn pump right behind the power steering pump and hose up on the firewall at the top is where I would be looking

also check the stuff up on the front axle itself for the vaccumn operated shifter

It's a deffinate Vaccuum leak someplace or your pump itself may be goin out. The pump rebuild itself is an easy job just a buggar to get in and out of the truck but doable by anybody out there with just a few hand tools.
