Default Crankcase tube smoking. Normal?

Is it normal for the crankcase tube to be pushing a good bit of smoke out of it while it is running? Also I get some oil dripping out from time to time. How much is to much oil because there is oil covering everything under the crankcase tube. I know its just a drip because ive seen it drip and i dont lose hardly any oil between oil changes. Ive had the truck for about 2 years and i know its been doing it ever since ive had it. I'm now just getting around to asking you guys. Thanks for the help guys!!!

How many miles are on it? How much oil drips out of it?

The guy who owned my truck before me let it idle a lot, so it pushed some smoke out the breather tube when it's idling but it still runs perfect. I lose a few drips of oil out of the breather tube. Its just a normal thing with a diesel. My truck only has 66,000 miles on it and it leaks
