i have a 92 and love it, but i do not tow much with it...
my dad on the other hand has a 04 cummins 6 speed standard 4x4 that we use for hauling hay, tractors, bobcats and the occasional track hoe.. so far no probelms 220,000 miles...
Anyway, all he has done to it is an edge performance chip, and as long as he keeps his foot out of it (not hooked up to a trailer) he gets close to 24 mpg on his 100 mile drive to work 3 days a week..
