yea i never thought about how the jake would make doin anythin to the back 2 cylinders even more of a pain in the ***.

no i dont need a jake on my pick up to make me feel good. if i need it that bad ill get in my KW and let it rip. it would just be handy to have. for the life of me i cant understand how an exhaust brake works. how the hell does restricin the exhaust keepin the pressure in the engine good on anythin?

Works the same way as closing the throttle on a gasoline engine. Instead of chocking off the air and pulling a vacuum it has to overcome greater pressure in the exhaust. I'm not exactly sure how much back pressure is created when the exhaust brake is activated, but I don't think it is high enough to damage anything.

Exhaust brakes are still pretty darn effective. The just don't make that cool sound.
