Default what year NV5600 6spd

What was the last year that dodge made the NV 6spd trans?? Has any body had issues with their G56 6spd trans??

Im in the market for another diesel, and since my wife has a powerstroke I get to trade in the PT Cruiser. Not a fan of chrysler though. What are the issues with the 5.9 since the 6.7 has all of the issues right now??

The transmission is good. The clutches are garbage. Absolute unabashed garbage. I am babying mine along till I can flange up A new one. But other then the clutch I am happy with mine. But I would trade for my NV5600. A little more forgiving and A stronger clutch design. Good luck.

Rhino.

2005 was the changeover year...you could get either one (no choice), depending on what they had at the time.

05 had NV5600 and 05.5 and later had the G56.

Stock clutch was garbage on my G56 but a dual disk fixed that. I did blow mine up at 74,994 miles, but was fixed under warranty. Dealer did a crap job and it doesnt shift near as smoothly and grinds sometimes but its still together at 120,000 miles. It did let go shortly after a beating at the drag strip that also cost me leaf springs. That was redline, 30+lbs of boost at launch in 3rd from linelock, with 33x14.5 slicks and no traction bars. Bad idea. I dont really know how long any trans will hold up to my full throttle/drop the clutch shifts, but this one is doing a decent job. Wonder how long it will hold once I backhalf the truck and get some fat sportsmans under it.

I have had NO trouble with my 6 speed. I pull 23.000 around for 6 mo a year from new to to day same clutch. It will do you a good job if you drive it with some sense.I have been all over TX AZ CA NM IL IN AR TENN KY MO some very hard pulls and some good down hill this is where the Jake has payed for it self. === GOOD LUCK ===

as for your question about the 5.9 issues, they are a great motor and dont have to many problems i have seen quite a few have injectors go bad and ruin the pistons, but all the new trucks out there have problems with the electric controlered injectors
