GM is full of just as much crap as any of the others. 400% markup...I couldn't believe it either, when the body shop guy quoted me I said no freaking way, laughed at him and walked out. That dealership is now being closed as part of GM's restructuring. What a bunch of idiots.

Yea. That was the other part. The service rep at the stealership said over the phone, "if you want us to order it, we can slap it on there for ya for only $140.00 labor." Um, no thanks, Skippy. I think I can handle it.

The pump bolts to the front of the engine, directly above the CP3, with three 10mm bolts. There's a single vacuum hose to disconnect, slacken the serpentine belt and the pump's off.

I just removed the pump and replaced the longer belt supplied with the Jake Brake kit with the stock length belt until I have the "extra" coin to buy the new pump. Things aren't looking too hot at the shop again and I don't NEED the Jake, though it is awfully nice!

I agree 1000% (I like to mark my stuff up too) They deserve to go bankrupt

All the guy needs is a simple part to fix his truck - what a bunch of crooks!

Yeah man. When the dealer told me the mirror was worth $1200, he said because the damage is over $1000 I need to go to the police station to get a 'damaged vehicle in transit' sticker or whatever it is. I said "The damage is a thousand dollars according to YOU, but the damage is NOT one thousand dollars..." ----ing retards. With the way they mark up parts, it's a wonder any rear ender is ever less than $1000 in damage these days. It's also why insurance goes up so high with people sue happy and repair parts so overpriced. I was glad to see that dealership close down. Hopefully Garbage Makers will learn a lesson.
