8.3 Cummins conversion

Default 8.3 Cummins conversion

Has anyone put a 8.3 Ltr in a BOMB. I have found some one whom is selling 8.3 ltr CNG Cummins for $1475 that are in old 40' transit buses. He claims that they can be converted back to Diesel.
Any thoughts...

Question

Please help Guys.... I'm at crossroads. I have a 1968 Jeep Gladitor J-3000 4x4 That I want to BOMB for my wife. But, With that being siad Money's a little tight right now. I'm getting conflicting information whether or not this can really be done.
Also, Found a D298ER Hercules Surplus rebuilt. However this model was origally built for a Mil. Gen-set. Have found a Local shop whom say's that they can convert the stock injection pump for Vari speed control. I can pickup the Herc for $500.
Also found a 12valve with a Allison MT643 Less than 100k miles. for $3000. But the bell housing is crack from a wreck.
Which way would you all go? The J-3000 is going to neew heavyier axles. As it only has 5 lug hubs.

Question Hey guys!

Come on you Guy's. There has been over two Hunred reads of this Post. You can't tell me"Not at least One" of you'all have a thought on this. I really need some direction on this.
News flash the New (old used) donor frame for the "Beast" has arived. It is a 1989 F250 4x4. The bed, trans, transfer case, Pass Door, steering Col & some small parts are gone.
The sheet metal on the front Clip and Cab are in 95%+ condition. They are for sale or trade.
But, That's not an issue. As I am planning of stripping the frame. Going thru thrru, the axles, breaks and suspension (increasing the GVWR)
