So is there a special way to complete it for the 48RE or is it the same?

The dealer has to enable the feature. On Auto's it just has to be turned on and it works. On the 6spd you have to do the for-mentioned process cause it's not considered 'safe' for the manual trucks.

so if im reading this correctly, when you do this on a 6sp no matter what when you turn cruise on and hit set... it will jump to 1100rpms?? it doesnt interfere with the normal operation of the cruise control on the highway?? it would be nice for in the winter to get it warmed up.. unless i am not thinking correctly...

Not no matter what, if the truck is is gear or your foot is on the brake it will not bump up to 1100. I use mine all the time now that I spent the 5 minutes to ground pin 22. Well worth the $13ish for the pin.

so just to clarify, if i do this mod, go get a pin and put in and ground out pin #22, when i start my truck and push the cruise on and set button my truck is going to jump to idleing at 1100-1500 rpms???? That is awesome.... definately going to have to do that..

When you engage the high idle it bumps the rpm up to 1100, you use the accel button to bump the rpms up higher, max is about 1600. Also, if your rolling/moving the high idle will not work. It gets a signal from the speed sensor.
