Injector Banjo washers
Hey guys, so This truck is a 2wd 3/4 ton Tow rig....I haven't done anything to it yet, but here is my seat of the pants story....
Loaded or unloaded if I roll on the pedal hard from a stop, it will bust the rearend loose...I am typically hauling 2000-3000 lb loads on a Tandem axle trailer....I load it proper so I have good tonge weight....
After the third trip with it loaded, I started smelling Raw Diesel...After investigating, I found the small brass/copper banjo crush washers at the injectors leaking slightly on 3 out of 6....
Are these easily available aftermarket, or should I just go local to my Dealer and buy 6...?
I want to address this before I bump the pump up at all....
The other major question I have is about MPG...? I am getting an average of 19-21 mpg right now....If I bump the pump up, will this stay the same, go up, or drop off...?
I know if my right foot is really heavy it will obviously drop....
but under NORMAL OPERATION....
What should I expect...?
Thanks again, John.

it will be fine as long as you keep your foot out of it..... i get 18 city and 21 highway. till i drop the hammer, i have put 3/4 of a tank through my truck in 1/2 an hour beating the crap out of it. but it spins when you punch it in third and if you hit fourth just right you can keep her going for a little in fourth, so i say crank the pump watch your egt's and when you want your good mileage back keep it under 10psi of boost...... till that little import gets out of place
