It is 100% normal.

 

Why are ya'll freaking out, this is normal. This is one of those things that make a cummins a cummins.

Im not freaking out ...geez! i was just replying too the new posts...thats all. I thought it was normal b4 i made the thread but i just wanted to be sure. my motto w my truck is better to be safe than sorry lmao and any new lil squeak or rattle or sound,, i wanna know why it is there and if it is 100% normal and if it can pose any problems in the future. so at least when it does break ill have a mental note of" oh i remember when this and this happened....and they said it could cause this and this later on... know what i mean???" yeah im a little obsessed so what!

 

yeah i understand you'll be hearin plenty of new squeaks and rattles in the dodge thats for sure. but ya either love em or hate em, i love em i just listen for new engine noises all the other squeaks and stuff are just fine

 

I've always heard it called a 'power chirp' that only a Cummins can do, I like it!

 

Mine has made that sound since the day I drove it off the lot.
