Your cummins - a diesel - a frieght shaker, an oil burner...
The 2nd gen trucks are so much louder we get really good at listening for odd things that aren't supposed to be there and really worried when it is quiet all of a sudden!

I'd say, leave your belt alone until the one that is on there starts to wear.

Now the obvious question. Have you checked the condition of your belt? Does it have any squeeks or weird sounds while running?

Tensioner may be getting weak also. If it has a few miles on it, may consider replacing it, along with the idler bearing.

im not sure if anybody said this or not but i heard that the "cummins chirp" is because of the high compression ratio, while everything is still spinning the crank comes to a stop and the belt chirps

Your still under the 36k warranty. Have Dodge replace the alt pulley w/ one that has a clutch in it. There is a TSB out for it.
