Your argument is retarded, do cummins engines come stock in fords? No. Do international? Yes. This is like arguing that a dodge with a cummins shouldn't with the dodge totm because it doesn't have a Dodge engine it.

I never said Ford "owned" Cummins...they didn't even have majority enough of the shares to be on the board, to my understanding, but I'm 99% sure that they did own shares in Cummins...and used to own many more shares than they do now. The Cummings Financial thing is news to me, so I can't argue that....and I can easily see how the lesser educated could confuse the two especially seeing as people on THIS SITE often sneak a "g" in there too...

If I'm wrong, I apologize...I was just going off of what I heard from the historians at the Ford plant. (I was the one in the tour group who asked if Ford owned Cummins or not )

I'll shut up now
As I understand it (from an uncle who is upper managment with cummins) Cummins and ford have had issues with each other for years. Several law suits, and lots of lawyers making money. Supposedly ford instructed dealers to make the claim that they owned a large amount of cummins shares and would offer cummins motors once their dodge contract expired. Cummins sued because this was false. Ford added the g and tried to say it was a typo, or something stupid like that. For a few years, fords site had an apology and correction, but the link to it was fairly well hidden and many dealers continued to spread the false info. One of the many reasons I think ford needs to shut their doors for good. Like when they sued firestone even though firestone warned them not to run the wilderness a/t tires on explorers, and when they tried to sue international although the problems they had were with ford parts, not those built by international. A horrible company that is unwilling to take the blame for their mistakes, and is more than willing to kill people to save a buck. And then there is the incident with ford putting explosives in a chevy trucks saddle tanks and claiming that chevys were blowing up when wrecked...

What about medium duty trucks? Never seen a cummins in f-550 and larger trucks? Or the L series? Maybe the first 5 words of your post apply to you...

Wow, this thread is getting out of hand a little bit.

Can we agree that big companies have 3rd party dealings for the very reason of passing the blame? It happens all the time...to almost every 500 company. It's insurance to allow you to take risks without carrying too much burden on your company itself.

Second, my "stock matching numbers" comment was just a razz becuse my truck is clearly a mutt. And I did mention in my submission that my engine came from a Medium Duty Ford...so technically, yes, it was posted.

I will refrain from misleading sarcasm now. My apologies.

You said that Cummins engines didnt come stock in ford trucks. That is wrong because they did. Just not the lighter stuff. But yes, some fords did, and still do, come with cummins engines.
