Well, in my defense, I'm one of the few Fummins I've seen with a Ford oval on the timing cover tag instead of a Pentastar...so, closer to "purebred" than most?

Yeah, because this site is called "Completely Stock Numbers Matching Diesel"...

Also, Ford did own quite a bit of stock in Cummins for quite a while...

And by your logic, tweaked to extreme interpretation, the only vehicles that would be true to brand form are the 6.7 "Scorpion" Fords, and the GM/Detroit IDI Chevys.... Everything else is either Isuzu, Navistar or Cummins...

Ford did not own Cummins, or shares of Cummins. They owned Cummings financial. In no way shape or form related to cummins. There is a link on the cummins web site clearly stating that fact. Cummins/Onan/Briggs and Stratton is more than 5 times larger than ford, and they have/had no need to sell out to them. Some idiot at a ford dealership saw that ford owned something called cummings, and being an idiot with minimal reading skills, thought cummings was cummins. Ford has never and will never own any part of Cummins.

I voted for the fummins.

Well, I was going off of what I was told at the Ford plant in Dearborne when I toured it several years ago. They said that Ford owned a good deal of shares in Cummins (regardless of company size, they almost all sell shares to the "public"...right?), and companies with similar interests often invest in one another. I never said Ford "owned" Cummins...they didn't even have majority enough of the shares to be on the board, to my understanding, but I'm 99% sure that they did own shares in Cummins...and used to own many more shares than they do now. The Cummings Financial thing is news to me, so I can't argue that....and I can easily see how the lesser educated could confuse the two especially seeing as people on THIS SITE often sneak a "g" in there too...

If I'm wrong, I apologize...I was just going off of what I heard from the historians at the Ford plant. (I was the one in the tour group who asked if Ford owned Cummins or not )

I'll shut up now
