1975 Chevrolet El Camino Classic
Engine mods –
Engine: 1994 12 valve
Tuning: General AFC mods. Ground foot, GSK washers, Flipped washers bla bla bla
Injectors: Stock 160's
Turbo: As of today, a Blown HX35
Intake: 3" all aluminum, and a big old filter on the turbo. Biggest aluminum intercooler I could get to fit.
Exhaust: 3" all my own. Mini Side Stack.
Fuel System: Stock with lots of fuel line and heater grid deletes.
Other:
Transmission mods –
Auto/manual: 47rh
Clutch/Torque Converter: OEM
Other: Running 50% lucas stop-slip for economy low stall.
Complete automatic gate switch OR manual override circuitry
Exterior –
Suspension: Hours and hours of searching though Federal Moog online catalog for the right stuff. Fully poly bushing replacements, heavy duty ball joints, Tie rods, and control arm reinforcement. Monroe AirMax air shocks in the rear, 1" rear drop springs. (not pictured)
Wheels: 2011 Camaro SS 20"
Tires: 275 rear, 245 front, Pirelli something or others.
Other:
Interior –
Audio upgrades: RetroSound radio, Sony speakers.
Creature Comforts: Most comfortable damn bench Seat you ever had.
Other:
Miscellaneous:
Well.... I basically touched every little nook and cranny in this thing to make it work. It has a beefy frame (stronger than the dodge if you can Imagine that) Fully boxed, measured from 2"x5" at points and 3"x4" at others. 3 Crossmembers not including the bumpers, of coarse.. The body is one piece and acts as a structural unit. The 10 bolt is running 12bolt internals.
This summer I did about 5k miles of road trip in it... at just about 29mpg at 85mph.
As of today my turbo has completely toasted, and I'm in need of a new turbo. Also, new injectors over these puny 160's would be nice... I've gone ***** deep into this truck and a little bonus would be nice....
Favorite Mod: The g damn Power windows. Its the simple things in life really...
Hey.... Still a GM... right?
