Default Cluster LED Mod

so i just replaced all of my incandescent bulbs in my cluster with LEDs.

here are some photos

use tape and a mark to be able to realign the needles

Best way to remove the needles

all of the old bulbs removed

750 ohm resister and LED soldered in

another LED soldered in

all of the LEDs are in

testing before putting it all back together

some areas will be tight so make sure you plan out where to put the resisters

all done. looks good

parts needed: 12x wide angle white LEDs, 12x resisters (i used 750 ohm 1/2 watt), soldering iron & solder, 7 MM nut driver, roughly one half to one hour of time depending on skill level

i used white LEDs but they turned out to be of the cool white verity so slightly blueish.

yes, it is fully dimmable.

the turn signals are a bit on the bright/washed out side. i would suggest to anyone trying this to use green LEDs for them

otherwise i think it looks great and is well worth it. the slight blue nature of the LEDs do add a nice contrast to the red/orange needles

I just did the same in my dodge, but it was a lot easier. Uses wedge bulbs. I did have to solder all the leds for my switches and hvac though. Yours looks great. Very clean.

I changed all the wedge bulbs as well, but intend to do them all. It looks horrible to have an orange or red light on when everything else is a beautiful blue.
