Personally I really like blizzards. We have 2 of them on 1 ton chevys and another on a Cat 279C skid loader.

I dunno about down pressure on western both of our westerns do a great job backblading IMO. But im not a huge boss fan because of the no chain pickup. I like having a plow with a chain lift on it in case the hydros quit you can still lift those plows up and drive off

you're not gonna bait me into a chain lift vs hydro lift discussion . I have had mechanical failures with hydro lift plows, but i have also been stuck from driving in too hot and being the victim of chain-hop. this is one of those issues that is a ford-chevy type debate but at the end of the day it comes down to personal prefrence. i can see the pros and cons of both.

My western backdragged very well also, i cant fault them there that's for sure. they have a very narrow profile (front to back) at the bottom of the blade and dont suffer from the "Snowshoe effect" when trying to drop them through a pile. but having used downpressure, i can't go back.

I didnt mean to imply that you did. im not trying to pick a fight either. Like i said earlier, there are things i love about my plow, but things i hate about it too.

they are available with a stainless, carbon steel, or Lexan skin on the moldboard. Mine is Stainless.

the blizard power plow(now owned by western) is an awesome plow. its like the wide out. my dad has one on his duramax. its 8 ft with the wings in so you can drive down the road without trning it. and with the wings out(fully hydro) it 10 ft. the wings go foward to shovel or keep snow infront of the plow. and its heavy enough so if youre back dragging it doesnt just float on the snow. also a nice part is there is no chain lift so the plow wont bounce and jerk and it carrys better when youre driving

Sorry I didnt answer Scott, I went out and took some pics but i cant figure out how to get them to load. no it isn't X Braced it is a straight vertical bracing. I have never understood the x-bracing, seems like a marketing gimmick to me. My plow has been through 8 seasons (4 of them very heavy seasons) and has been very reliable. It seems to be plenty strong.
