yes i know i will have to swap it out and use the adapters but the price for the stand alone wiring harness is just down right F*#@$ing insane! i have found the schematics for the wiring and i think im going to take the time and try to make one or modify a stock one and it will hook up to a PCM thats in the truck that will now just be used to run my gauges and give the signal for the throttle position sensor to the trans wiring harness.
i have more time then money

oh and i already have access to efilive to "tune" the transmission

heard from the machine shop today and looks like the engine work is about done. was very happy with the price he gave me so far so i told him to port and polish the head also seeing how i had more then enough money set aside haven't had much time though to get anything else done to the truck thought. got the intercooler tucked up in the core support just have to make brackets for it thats been about it. hopefully i get some time to clean up the rest of the parts for the engine before it comes back!

well after searching i found out that you can use a bell housing off another allison transmission on the allison 1000. and a flywheel to bolt to the engine with out the $1500 dollars in an adapter and fly wheel from destroked. it also seem as i thought that its pretty easy to use a stock transmission wiring harness for the allison by hooking up a couple of feed wires. hopefully i can find the parts i need soon.
one question i have if anyone is actually paying attention to my thread is what does everyone recommend how to break the engine in. i have found information on running the engine from 5 minutes to as long as 20 minutes at 2000 rpm with no coolant in it with kind of scares me a little.... dont wanna be looking at an expensive boat anchor

you could get at 8.1 liter with an allison trans in a 3/4 ton. i actually have never seen a newer body style 1 ton that had a gas motor in it besides a 2000-02 dually. honestly they should have never been mated with an allison transmission. just to much for them. great motors if you can afford to fix GM's mistakes with the very tiny cam shaft in them. the 4l85e would have been much better.

well my engine guy is d!@king the dog on getting my stuff down now even though theres hardly anything left to do. must not want to get paid any time soon. sadly i havent done much of anything else in the garage with how hot its been here the past couple weeks i think we broke a couple of records this year for illinois for hottest temp recorded and most days above 90* in a summer and its not over yet! but i did get a nice turbo blanket in that time period

I had an 02 2500hd that had one. Along with the allison. Best running/pulling gas engine I ever had in a truck.
