ok so if i do a draw straw from the top, i just plug the lines in the original sender and cut power to the sender, but leave power to the fuel level gauge wire?

I used the factory gas sending unit and just removed the fuel pump and replaced it with a steeltube

What year cummins are you putting in? The 89-93 have a vacuum pump. The truck should already have a fuel return that selects with the supply line being used.
Could you weld an extension on your tranny selector to reach the cable?

I've got a 94 with a ppump, its weird cause if I extend the bracket that the cable clips in the actual cable won't be long enough its like the cable itself needs to be longer
