Default 1985 6.2 to cummins help

I have a 1985 crew cab chevy with a 6.2 diesel in it. Im thinking about doing a cummins conversion but i have some questions. When doing the conversion whats the difference between doing a 12 valve or a 24 valve? To do it the right way what else should i look for or do to the truck during the conversion process? thanks

Default 1985 6.2 to cummins help

I held my 24v a little farther from the firewall so I have access to the return fuel line on back of the head i need to. Bit me in the butt when I put the core support back in and didnt have the clearance for the mechanical fan. Had to make a shroud with 4 Elec fans. Wouldve held it back that 1" if I knew.

THE 24 VALVE , besides having more valves, is electronically controlled, requiring an ecm and several other things, if you like simplicity, go with the 12, if you like wiring diagrams and programers and stuff do the 24
