Thanks Hyspeedz, I’m not exactly sure how my conversion is going to work out, I have lots of power questions that won’t be answered until it's up and running. The engine I’m using is only 50 H.P. from the factory so needless to say it’s going to be a screamer! I believe I will be able to get 20-25 more H.P. with the turbo, at any rate it been a fun project! My project has required a bunch of drill press and lathe work but don’t misinterpret I’m not a machinist by any stretch of the imagination, more of a “yeah y’all lets try this approach”. It kind-a like eating an Elephant, one bite at a time. Good luck with whatever direction you go,

Update: Got my Motor Mounts built, made them from the OEM brackets and steel plates. The OEM mounts actually worked pretty well just had to modify them a bit. Once I had the Motor Mounts complete I could measure for my Oil Pan. I modified the Oil Pan by shortening it up by about an inch. The pan itself will hold just a little under 4 quarts with a total engine volume of around 6 quarts. Then I went back and made another modification to the Accessories Plate. I had planned on using an electric Vacuum Pump at a cost of $250.00 but then a friend suggested a belt driven pump. As it turns out you can get them for $125.00 bucks with a lifetime warranty and it fit nicely onto my project. I used a pump from a 1997 Powerstroke but I believe they are all about the same. I’ll be building the engine this week so I should have it up for test runs soon.

Great progress! You were lucky to have a steel oli pan, I had one of those flat aluminum pancake ones so I had to build it from scratch. I finally got the memory card from my kid so here are some pix of mine. My pan holds 2gal, close to the pancake one.

Dang you made that from scratch? Looks great good job! It looks like your engine is going to sit further back in the truck than mine does, you've got room for a huge sump reservoir. I looked at doing a drop sump reservoir but really don't have the room. I still have to make my pickup tube.

The big crossmember for the twin I beam suspension only aloud for 1in clearance for the front of the pan, so a deep sump was required plus I wanted as much oil capacity as I could get for the possible turbo addition later. The motor is in the same location as the gasser. I just have to do some wiring and plumbing and it will be ready for the first start!

Update: Everything is painted and assembled ready to go in the truck. The clutch, pressure plate, and transmission all fit like they came that way from the factory. I had to fit the pilot bearing into the flywheel which also worked out just fine. I started it today sitting in the floor and let it run a couple minutes. The serpentine belt system worked great, no vibrations or other issues. I’ve included a link below to Youtube that contains a short clip of the engine running. Putting it in the truck tomorrow, more pics and videos to come.

Update: Engine is in and running, clutch feels great. I sat the radiator & support back on the truck and went to local part house for some radiator hoses. I was able to hunt through their allotment until I found preformed hoses thus avoiding the universal flex hoses, just looks better. I drove it around the yard at idle, idle because I have yet to hook up the throttle. It putted around just fine, even backed itself up on the Rollback until it spun the tires. I’ll be hooking up the rest of the support systems here in the next week or two so I should be able to drive it soon.
