I could be all wet with this but the factory Mazda Engine is only rated at 85 HP and 120 TQ where as from what I have read here the V2203DI with a Turbo will make in excess of 90 HP and 160 TQ at 10 PSI. So with those numbers the V2203DI Turbo will have more TQ than the original engine. So it should perform better than the factory engine with the benefit of substantially increased MPG depending on Gearing and the style of vehicle along with weight of the perspective vehicle for the V2203 DI Turbo to be transplanted into..

Does that sum it up a little.

Default Nice thread

hello My name is Dan, I have a 66 triumph 2000 with the Kubota T1505-te3 the adapter from kenitic and a toyota corolla trans. The car has a 4.1:1 rear with no options of changing it (independent rear) so I made an overdrive unit from parts from winters performance quick change diffs, the tires I'm running are 185-65-15. I can hit 75 mph if the wind is nice, my intown mpg is just short of 42 mpg, most hills (6 to 7%) are 50 to 60 mph in 3 or 4th gear.

I have a few questions:

1st where are you taping into for boost readings?
2nd is there anything I can do to get more out of it? I would like to have gone with the v2203 but this just fits I have a 1/2 gap from front crank pulley to steering cross member after moving the cross member forward 1.5 inches. I can just force the belt between the crank pulley and c-m.
3rd possibly somewhere in this thread where did you find out what the turbos that would fit or how to adjust waste gate to increase boost?

thanks

Default New Turbo

Update: I changed my turbo out today, over to the KKK K03 turbo like Rangmar is running. Fantastic results! It's by far the best turbo I have tried yet. It builds boost pretty much at idle, super fast boost response, and higher boost pressures than I've had with any of the other turbos I've tried. The EGT's are also well controlled, pushed to the max I could only get 1150 out of it. The only complaint is that it's a bit more of a pain in the A$$ to adapt, I had to use allen headed bolts because there isn't room for regular headed bolts, tight tolerances. Anyway, it's was well worth the effort.

It came off a 1999 VW Passat. I think they run them on all their models, Jettas, Bugs, and some Audi's.

ok thanks good to know. Did you notice any tapering to the holes in your transmission bell housing???. I am scratching my head on how to get around this problem on my jeep? There is about .030 taper, and my alignment punches just go all over the place

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

sorry for the stupid question but gasser VW or diesel VW?

The VW was a gasser.

When I built my adapter plates I made cardboard templates and then transferred the pattern over to the aluminum plates. I'm not picturing the taper you are talking about.

Glad to see you are happy with the results. Gotta love how cheap and plentiful these are also. Did you notice a different exhaust/ turbo note?
