The turbo is a Garret GT1752, came off a Saab. Yes you can run 12lbs of boost with no issues. Good luck.

Hard to say, mine only runs about 10-12 at its max, but, I have had trouble getting it to produce enough fuel to build anymore boost than that. I'm running a IDI engine which is part of the problem, I'm building a DI engine to go in it, just have other projects that have to be finished first. Maybe FTE will chime in, he's running a DI engine that will produce more boost.

Yep, mine will produce 20psi with the wastegate shut and keep my foot in it. Most of the time I will shift before it gets that high because it has that much low end tq. The egt starts to get a little high with that much throttle, so I am more concerened with that than boost levels. Only short bursts do you see that high of egt or boost, most of the time it is @ 3-7 psi, with hills bumping it up to 10-15 psi. I am currently running a garret t3 off a Mercedes om617, I like it alot.

I'm using the original GM 5 speed trans and indexed the GM pressure plate to the Kubota Flywheel. I believe there are pics early in the thread of the flywheel and transmission.
hi weighing in here. your 5 speed is not the s10 t5 but im thinking what they used later, but im wondering if the 2.8 3.1 camaro v6 type bell that used the t5 has this same pattern-engine to tranz??

Welcome dirtdigger! I would use the V2203, it's just the right size, and if it's a DI engine, then you will have plenty of power and it'll get great MPG. Just take your time, think it through, and read through the post. It's not a project for the faint of heart, it WILL take considerable time! I very much enjoyed mine and still enjoy driving it everyday. It also brings a lot of conversation, especially when you hit the local drive in car shows. Hope it goes well for you.

usedkubotaman you are an inspiration. I have been reading all of your post. I intend on putting it into a ford ranger 5 speed. I have a friend that has a bridgeport and he said he could do some machining for me so I am getting all my ducks in a row before i finance the operation. I just joined this site. Currently my dd is a 04 6.0 stroker that I just got done setting the cab back on after the build. I have also read into jakebilts build. Hopefully i can get my kubota swap going soon.

also if anyone has aaron's contact info for diesel repower that would be great. My only worry is the adapter plate

Hi dirtdigger, I have the Ranger powered rig. The adapter should be no problem with the tools you have available. My adapter is working fine, have logged over 6000 mi so far, the Ranger 5spd is holding up great. I think I have some pix of it on this thread. You will love this motor in your Ranger!

Thanks FTE...Dennis from Diesel Repower just sent me my v2203 DI out of a reefer. He also sent me a new (regular) oil pan. I have it in stalled but now im scratching my head....where do i fill the oil...where is the dipstick. I know on alot of kubota engines the valve cover has a threaded cap but all mine has is what looks like a CCV diaphram. I also have no dipstick with out the carrier pan...Please Help
