This motor came out of a Carreir reefer, so they are set up for a constant rpm and load. I think they are set up fairly conservative. I have a couple of turbo options setting in the shop. On one of the other sites, there is a guy that has put several Kubota's in Rangers, so I am trying to pick hie brain. With the kubota, I will have more room for an intercooler, not sure there will be with the Benz, I don't have any room to spare with the jeep.

On the 300sd it is on the firewall above/behind the valve cover, not sure it is in the same location on the 300d. It may be on the drivers side fender well by the glow controll.

It's more the torque than the horse power. SROD's have been put in to F150's with 300's and 302's. As long as(like you said) your not trying to be fast & furious it'll last. But 3rd gear is always the first to go WC or not. I remember a story about a mustang(fox) where the T5 went out way before the 7.5. I'm not saying don't use it, just keep spare parts.

Got snow on the ground here in WA to. suppose to get into teens tonight. pretty cold for around these parts. Where do you guys get adapter for bellhousing? I was thinking of putting MB in my 83 bronco. I have 300 6cyl gasser now and I figured with some simple mods I should be able to get the same power from the benz. I think they are about 2 liters smaller. the 300 being a 4.9. I ain't worried about speed, just goes back and forth to work and aound in the woods.
