I think they are about 2 liters smaller. the 300 being a 4.9. I ain't worried about speed, just goes back and forth to work and aound in the woods.
If your rig is full sized, I think it will be a little weak. I have this motor in my Cherokee, 3900lbs, and it does just fine but wouldn't want to have it in anything heavier/larger, just my opinion. If you are in my neck of the woods, we could meet up and see for yourself.

My mom is in vancouver. I live in LOngview. If you don't mind pm your number to me and the next time I go to Vancouver I will get a hold of you and see if we can meet up. I would really like to see it. MY bronco is full size, I don't think that it is that much heavier then a Cruiser or cherokee. don't know.

Making progerss, thats great! When I got my parts I think the Benz trans input shaft splines were even (depth wise) with the bell flange, but on the Ranger trans the pilot end is even with the bell flange. So I figure the difference between the Benz trans and Ranger trans input depth is about 1 1/4 in. Don't have a t5 to compare.

My 88's door tag reads 6050lbs, a lot heavier that a unibody Cherokee. Maybe not a lot but enough

When I get closer to tearing into it I will. I have a few too many irons in the fire right now. I am torn as to witch motor to use, the Benz or the Kubota I just scored on.
