Exactly what Turbo stang mentioned, There is nothing wrong with the LBZ, I recommend it highly, its what I drive and I love it, infact I just ran a 475rwhp tune for a few days and the truck took it like a champ, I detuned it simply because I like the truck too much to abuse it when I cant afford to be rebuilding the trans and Engine
Once the Dmax is built it can make some NASTY power, just look up Dimitri Millard, I think his LB7 just made 1500hp with a large volume of N2O

oh k thanks. the only thing i wouldnt do is nos to many dangers.before i would get to those numbers on the first engine would it be best to automaticly put head studs in. an if i do can i take them off the engine an put them on the other engine im building for high power.

britewhiteram what did u do on your truck to get that power an, in the latest diesel world mag they started a build on one of the dmax engines, an made 437 with out transmission work.

All i used was a tune, I cant say for sure that it was 475hp exactly but im ballparking because it came from Nick at Duramaxtuner.com and if he says the tune is 475hp I believe it, the reason im saying that it might not have been 475 for my truck is that the fuel rails were probably drained because i dont have a lift pump to keep the CP3 fueled
if you plan to buy a truck, but dont plan to build the engine right away, studs are not needed, the stock headbolts and gaskets can take quite a bit before they go
