hi guys my brothers got a 72 ford f250 2wd with a 360 and i would like to through a cummins in it i was mainly looking at a 4bt cummins i would like to turn this pickup into an over the road travel vehicle seeing as how its a 2wd but am not sure if i would do better with a 4bt or a regular 12v 5.9l i want a mechanical one and then i also want to use an automatic tranny to make it nicer to drive alittle fuzzy about how the tranny would all work but what do u think of my ideas thanks for reading.

i don't know about where you are, but around here the 6bts are alot cheaper and easier to find than the 4bts.

I would go with a 12v 5.9, itll make all the power you want and should still get pretty good mileage. Find a 94-98 Dodge donor truck with a 12v 5.9 and 47RH, it would probably be the easiest route to go.
