94 turbo idi into motorhome

hello I am about to put a 7.3 idi into a motorhome to replace a 8.2 detroit. I have a few qustions. I have located all the parts i need to mount the engine to my alison 545 the shift point on the the trany is aprox 3200 rpm . will my idi be able to rev this high with the stock engine speed setting? I am retaining the 4" exhaust pipe as this is a rear engine unit I have alot of room to work the turbo plumbing. I also have a intercooler from a cummins that i want to use. how dose the tach work on a idi?
