12 valve or 7.3
right now i have an 85 f350 with a 6.9 and its just not enough. i'm considering either a 12 valve or a 7.3 powerstroke. which would be better and what problems would i run into?
thanks guys
thanks guys
here's where i'm at. my cab is actually a 94 off a super duty powerstroke so i have the slots. i can get the powerstroke and electronics for 750 and install it myself. the cummins would cost me 1500 then 2500 to 3000 to get put in... thats some background to the decision i have to make
I see you are local to me. I would love to check it out when you're done with it. I would love to put a 5.9 in my 97. I just don't have the funding right now. I agree that the 5.9 would be a ton easier. I am not impressed with the power of my powerstroke. 5.9 can be turned up quite easy, all depends on what you want to do with the truck I guess.
well i'm bouncin around a ton of ideas. this truck might actually get put aside for pullin only. I'm considering a crew cab for daily drivin but i'm not sure yet. i'm gonna ask a hell of a lot from this truck. it needs to be able to pull a sled down the dirt or a gooseneck over the hills
i know at least two who have 50-100k in there engine alone. and one with 50k in just the top end of the motor. 2 twelve valves and a 24valve. the one with the 24valve actually put the least into it. i'm never spending that kinda money. i probably wont go over work stock class with it. just to be specific on my purposes
