I m trying to get a my parts to gather to start my 12 valve swap. I bought a 91.5 ic 4x4 auto it has a 205 transfer case. I was told that the 205 will go right behind an 4x4 nv4500?I would just take it apart and check but i m trying to sell the overdrive auto on cl and figured it would sell better in the truck were could be drove not laying in the shop floor.

 

If its a 5 speed it will. and if it is hold on to that T case for dear life.

 

It is coming off of an auto. The ones of of an ol getrag hard to find? or what do you mean by hold on to it?

 

They are around, but last time I tried to get one people wanted more than I paid for my motor for one.

Getrag/nv4500 use 29 spline shaft, auto uses 23. The 23 is physically smaller than the 29. I have read about some people taking the auto case and getting it machined out for the bigger bearings, but I don't recall exactly what had to be done.

 

its a total nightmare to get a 23 spline changed to 29 spline and the 29's are IMPOSSIBLE to find. i sold my last one for 1200 bucks and it had 200K on it

 

any body know of some one who makes a coupler that would work i found a place that did but sold out

that doesnt look like a 29 to 23 spline adapter. it looks to me like theyre saying they sell just a 23 spline coupler and just a 29 spline coupler. not a conversion unit
