im looking at an 86 ford f350 extended cab, long box, 4x4 dually. it has already had a 97 7.3l stroke set in it, but i want to put my 95 cummins in instead. the motor and tranny are going back to the current owner of the truck. i found a zf 5 speed for a heck of a lot cheaper than i can get a NV4500. my question is how reliable is the zf5 for holdin the power of the cummins? i know they have issues with the aluminum tail shaft housing breaking from the weight of the transfer case, but are there any other problems with this tranny?

 

i know there's a ton of fummins out there, anybody ever do this?
