a friend of mine has an old school bus he wants to sell me its a 91 with the 12 valve cummins. the trany in it is blown. i have an ol 82 Chevy k10 i bought a year ago with the 6.2 diesel in it. 4wd and 4spd manual. motor in the 6.2 in shot, started burning oil and siezed up the motor.

thought about buyin the school bus pulling the cummins and putting it in the ol 82. and getting a nv4500 trany behind it. or my dad said he has an ol 71 ford f350 he would give me to put the cummins in it. not sur ewhich i wanna do yet cause the ford is 2wd but a one ton and the chev is a half ton 4wd. would hafta upgrade the springs on the chev for sure. i have also heard i need to lift the chev 4inches, and not wanting to do that.

just wanting ur guys opinions on my idea before i buy the buss.

 

I think the ford would be the better choice due to the fact that you have to change the front axle anyway (too much weight for the 1/2 ton ). The ford is a heaver frame, a better place to start. Good luck, great project!
